Our Mission

Munhu is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to help children orphaned by AIDS in rural Zimbabwe.
We provide direct support for children's education, assistance for children who are head of household and we extend our help to village communities as well.

“Munhu” is the word for a person, a human being, in Shona language (the majority spoken language in Zimbabwe after English). For our organization, Munhu represents our core value of caring for people in need, especially for children.

Vision

We believe that every child deserves an education. We believe in a world where every child should have an adequate education and live a healthy and dignified life. We hope you share this high ideal… so help us to make this dream a reality, starting with children in Zimbabwe!

Currently, there are over a million AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe. More than half will not return to school due to lack of financial support. We began in 2004 by funding 15 AIDS orphans and now, with the help of donors and volunteers like you, we currently support over 2000 children!
